Luxury South Loop rents on the rise, but still a bargain

If you’ve been following rent prices in the South Loop you’ve noticed that they’re trending upward. The good news is that luxury apartments in the neighborhood are still bargain-priced.

The LEX, which was built as a condominium and converted to rentals, has 1- and 2-bedroom, 2-baths available in its loft and tower sections. All of the apartments have condo-quality finishes, including in-unit washer / dryers.

A 2-bedroom, 2-bath loft is available for just $2,225 a month. Two-bedrooms in the tower start at $2,352 and one-bedrooms at $1,711.

The new Green Line station at Cermak provides quick access to the Loop, the West Loop, the IIT campus and the University of Chicago hospitals. The Lex’s South Loop location is near a growing restaurant, bar and nightlife scene, and has convenient access to McCormick Place, the new sports arena that’s under construction, the lakefront and the city’s expressway grid.

The LEX is a full-amenity, pet-friendly, high-service community with on-site parking and a range of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom tower and loft-style apartments.

Floor plans and near real-time availability information can be accessed online.
