Meet Patricia, Chicago's first door-cierge

We stopped by 215 West Washington Friday for a first look at this new Loop apartment tower. 215 West just received its certificate of occupancy through the first 31 of its 50 stories and the the first tenants have already moved in.

We were greeted by Patricia, and soon learned that she’s the building’s “door-cierge,” a combination doorman and concierge. If our experience is any guide, the building residents can look forward to a very high level of very pleasant and personable service from Patricia.

If you’d like to meet more of Chicago’s high-rise door staff, spend a few minutes with 565 Quincy’s Leonard Kelly, 600 North Fairbanks’ Ariel Garcia, 600 Lake Shore Drive’s Anthony Sarpy, and 399 Fullerton’s Darren Johnson.

We’ll bring you more from 215 West when the models open in a few weeks.

Interesting concept. How much more expensive is she than a standard door person? How does being both a concierge and door person work logistically? e.g. who watches the door while she is out getting Spot euthanized?
