Milwaukee Ave lofts to be ready in late summer

1739 N Milwaukee Ave, Bucktown, Chicago

It sounds like it’s time to get a new photo of 1739 – 1745 N Milwaukee Ave, the Bucktown building that Five Star Development is converting to eight industrial lofts. According to Rich Kasper from Conlon Real Estate, the facade is not finished yet, but construction should be finished in 90 days. After that, Kasper says it will probably take 30 to 45 days before any of the homes will be ready for delivery.

“Instead of all the moldings that you typically see, [the developer] decided to go very contemporary, so the will be a lot of straight lines and exposed brickwork,” he says.

Kasper didn’t have the complete pricing for the development available when I spoke with him, but two single-floor units are currently on the MLS. The first, a two-bedroom / two-bath is priced in the $440s, and the second, a 1,647 square-foot three-bedroom / two-bath is priced in the $520s.

Floor plans for the development can be viewed on a PDF brochure posted on Kasper’s Web site. They show that the homes on the top two floor will all be two-bedroom / two-bath duplexes with private roof decks.
