While we were checking out Chase Park Commons, 4717 N Clark, the other day, we also spotted Leland Park Condominium (yes, it’s singular) around the corner at 1457 W Leland. The conversion has six condos with one or two bedrooms ranging from $244,000 to $319,000. The Michelle Browne Team at Rubloff Residential Properties is marketing the project.
Carol’s Pub, 4659 N Clark St, sits at a fulcrum point between these two projects. The place has already inched over the line from seedy to hip, but I hope the new crop of condo owners doesn’t change the atmosphere too much more. Where else in the city can you listen to a country band while dancing with an old man with missing teeth who grabs your hand so hard his thumb actually leaves a thumb-shaped bruise? Good times.
