Construction update: Streeterville's ParkView topped out

ParkView, November 2007 ParkView rendering
ParkView
, under construction at 505 N McClurg Ct in Streeterville, has come a long way since we last stopped by in August. The 47-story tower, designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, has reached its full height, and the glass skin is nearly to the roofline.

Our photo doesn’t show the copper accents on the west side of the building (depicted in the rendering above), but it does capture a smidgen of the area that will be devoted to a two-acre park. That patch of green, which is full of trucks and machinery now, ought to be a good addition to the neighborhood and will likely provide some nice views for residents, especially on the lower floors.

The Peshtigo

Lake views may be tougher to come by, however. As one Yo reader commented, the nearly unbroken eastern views will be blocked if developer Related Midwest follows through on its plan to build The Peshtigo at 515 N Peshtigo Ct (pictured at left). But you could do worse than to have a view of The Peshtigo, a shimmery, asymmetrical building designed by Ralph Johnson, of Perkins + Will.

Prices on ParkView’s one- to three-bedroom condos start in the $380s. At Peshtigo, one- to three-bedroom condos start in the $480s, according to the project’s Web site.
