Westward Development building 86-unit condo project in St. Ben's

Brand new condos in St. Ben’s are about as common as new office towers in downtown Detroit, so the fact that Westward Development Company is building an 86-unit project in the coveted North Center enclave is big news. Don’t get too excited – the project will front Western Avenue, not one of the leafy side streets St. Ben’s is known for – but it will be walking distance from the eponymous church and school, Bell Elementary and if you’re feeling energetic, Wrigley Field.

Architect Proteus Group designed Cityscape Condominiums, 3901 N Western Ave, with several eclectic facades dominated by a distinct tower-like corner with a signature cap, a theme repeated in vertical glass elements in each building. We’re especially intrigued by the funky fenestration and rooftop garden in the center building, based on the sketchy renderings.

Units have one to three bedrooms, and some have dens. The project offers 20 options for floor plans online. Prices in the mid-$300s include parking, and Sussex & Reilly is handling sales from a center at 3918 N Western Ave. Cityscape rendering 2.jpg
