Elsdon Village to bring 280 homes to 10 acres near Midway

We posted recently on the ubiquity of single-family homes selling for more than a million in Chicago. Here’s a horse of a different color: Elsdon Village, a 10-acre development at West 51st Street and South Homan Avenue near Midway Airport, has single-family homes priced from the $300s.

The project comprises 120 condos, 24 duplex townhomes and 86 single-family homes and two-flats, according to a news release from DeGrazia Development Co., the developer. The single-family homes range from 982-square-foot “bungalows” with two bedrooms, starting in the $300s, to 2,769-square-foot homes with five bedrooms, starting in the $550s.

The development’s Web site says townhomes start in the $370s and condos start in the $190s.

The two-flats have three-bedroom owner’s units and one-bedroom garden units that can be rented out. The news release says the two-flats are priced from the $360s, while the development’s Web site says they start in the $400s – we’re not sure which is more current.

We’ll post renderings as soon as we get them.
