Trotter to open two restaurants at Elysian

Imagine having a restaurant operated by world-renowned Chicago chef Charlie Trotter in your house: just a quick jaunt down the stairs and you’re chowing down on naturally raised Summerfield Farm lamb shoulder with garlic, aged manchego and parsley. The future residents of The Elysian Hotel and Private Residences, under construction at 11 E Walton St in the Gold Coast, will have two Charlie Trotter’s restaurants under their roof: a dinner-only spot and a casual place open all day.

Trotter, who joined the Elysian as the head of food and beverage operations in November 2006, hosted a food and wine event for residential brokers at his Lincoln Park studio kitchen on April 17. He’s pictured above with developer David Pisor, CEO of Elysian Hotels and Resorts.

The 60-story Elysian, designed by Lucien Lagrange, will house 188 hotel condos and 51 condos. Nearly 70 percent of both are under contract. The project is slated for completion in 2008.
