We couldn’t believe how far construction on Bluestone Development’s Lakeside Lofts had come since we visited during Yo’s South Loop week. Much of the brick is up on the face of the first building, and the second building is almost entirely framed. In fact, Bluestone principal Robert Frankel told us construction on the development is “a couple months ahead of schedule,” and that delivery of units in the first building will start in late April. The second building will begin delivering in September, he said. The 96-unit development is 70 percent sold, and Frankel said it has been attracting first-time buyers who prefer a smaller, more intimate mid-rise to the many high-rises also under construction in the neighborhood. About one third of Lakeside’s buyers are already coming from the South Loop, he added. The development is located at 2025 S Indiana Ave, and a sales center is located at 1915 S Michigan Ave. Check out more construction pictures inside.
