Construction update: The Columbian topped off in South Loop

The Columbian The Columbian

Since we last photographed it in October (left), The Columbian has gotten taller, but it ain’t gettin’ any prettier. The 46-story building has been capped off, and the orange brick of the facade is still crawling toward the top. Nearby, steel-and-glass high-rises like One Museum Park and One Museum Park West will give the South Loop a boost of contemporary architecture, so how do you think the more traditional Columbian will fare on the landscape? The building, located at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Roosevelt Road, has 220 condos priced from the $330s to $1.5 million.
