JFJ brings its condo Opus to River North

opus_110.jpg “Opus” is a word usually reserved for a work of art, so we guess it’s fitting that JFJ Development Company is referring to its new River North development Opus 110 as “a 27-story glass sculpture.”

Based solely on the rendering pictured, we are, so far, sufficiently impressed to say the name is deserving. The tower will have a beveled glass face on one side, with large balconies on the ends. The floor-to-ceiling glass, gentle curve, outdoor space and high level of privacy all seem like winners. The side of the building facing Superior will not be its most attractive, but given the configuration of the site, this seems like a good response — and much better than most of the travesties that have been built in River North.

The condos, which will have 9.5-foot ceiling heights, are priced from the $480s for one-bedroom units with dens to more than $1.4 million for a three-bedroom pad. The building will have 62 condos with only two or four residences on each floor. Yes, even the smallest of these units will be pretty grand.
