Sales and construction update: Canal Crossing

Canal Crossing construction

For those buyers who are intent on living in one of See Y. Wong‘s South Side developments but are concerned that 1349 South Wabash won’t be getting off the ground anytime soon, don’t fear: There are other options.

No, I’m not referring to Wong’s $80 million Grand Imperial Hotel planned for Chinatown. The one that seems most likely to deliver by the end of the year is Wong’s other condo development, Canal Crossing, which is currently under construction at 2318 – 2328 S Canal St at the edge of Chinatown.

When I spoke with Ling Yow this morning, she said that 85 percent of the two- and three-bedroom condos at Canal Crossing had already been sold. Yow expects construction to be completed by the end of the year and says that first move-ins should start in November. Yow says that of the 11 remaining units, there are only two or three two-bedrooms and at least eight three-bedrooms. Prices run from the $240s to the $320s.

Below is a rendering of what the finished building should look like.
