To cut down on clutter for families, Jacobs Homes has built “mud rooms” with individual drawers and lockers for children, right down to cork-boards on the locker doors for posting invites, photos and sports schedules in custom houses like this one on the North Shore. There’s also a “mommy inbox,” no kidding, in this room “so kids can drop permission slips and school updates that mom needs to see.” In the right hands – “sorry, Bobby, everything has to go through my inbox” – just think how efficient this could make parenting.
