North Shore open house pick – 2424 Park Place, Evanston

Every so often I dip into YoChicago’s extensive library of stock footage to take you on a drive through Chicago’s North Shore and north suburbs, pausing for a look at what has sold recently and what’s currently for sale.

There’s a three-block stretch of Park Place in Evanston that has broad setbacks, ancient trees and mature landscaping that lend it a lush parkway feel. The area’s just south of Wilmette and just north of the shops, restaurants and Metra stop on Central Street – one of my favorite North Shore neighborhoods. It’s popular with young families because of the schools, the location, and proximity to a Metra stop. You can see more of Central Street in one of our BlockWalk videos and in our Flickr photo album.

A 4-bedroom, 2 ½ bath home at 2424 Park Place came on the market 5 days ago, priced at $650,000. It’s open Sunday, April 9, from 12:30 to 2:30. Coldwell Banker’s Barry Mann has the listing.
