There are currently 994 homes, apartments and condos listed for rent in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) in the 14 downtown Chicago ZIP Codes that we track.
That number represents an 8.2% increase over the last two months and a 28.6% increase over the same time last year.
The number of listings has changed little over the last two months in most of the downtown ZIP Codes. ZIP Code 60608 (parts of University Village, Pilsen, Bridgeport and McKinley Park) has one-third fewer listings available. ZIP Code 60605 (South Loop) has 8.2% fewer listings. The available inventory is up 17.5% in ZIP Code 60611 (Streeterville, parts of River North and the Gold Coast) and 27.8% in ZIP Code 60622 (Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village, East Village, part of Humboldt Park).
