“He was like my family,” the Tribune quotes Chicago police officer Paul Casasanto remembering his horse, Mikey C, who was named in honor of a fallen police officer.
Several years ago our ace photographer, Michael Kardas, shot these photos of officer Casasanto. Mikey clearly brought joy to Curtish Ruptash, the young lad in the photo, and to many thousands of other young and old Chicagoans over the years.
