Sales at Prairie House at Central Station, a townhouse and condo development in the South Loop’s Central Station community, have entered their final phase, according to Norman Radow, president of the Atlanta-based Radco Companies.
Since taking over the project from Bejco Development in December 2003, the Radco Companies has sold more than $10 million dollars worth of homes at the project. At press time, fewer than 30 of 187 condominiums remained for sale, and all six townhomes were taken.
Remaining homes have one to three bedrooms, 1.5 to three baths and 944 to 2,470 square feet, priced from the low $300s to the mid-$900s.
“It’s so rewarding to see how much progress we’ve made in less than eight months,” Radow said. “From the moment we stepped into this venture, we believed that with the proper attention to detail, we’d be able to turn this project around quickly. Of course, ultimately the residents are the ones who dictate if you’ve accomplished your goal. But I think the fact that we are now entering the final phase of sales indicates that we’re on the right track.”
Radow said a recent round of improvements at Prairie House has helped spur sales.
“We’ve painted the walls with custom colors in each of the hallways, which has created a more contemporary look,” Radow said. “We’ve also added artwork on every floor. These additions have been made to reflect the type of urban sophistication that our residents expect.”
Radco also plans to update the lobby with new furniture, make final additions to the highrise’s private rooftop entertainment room and add a workout facility.
In addition to each home having at least one balcony or terrace – some up to 65 feet wide – condominiums at Prairie House also include nine-foot ceilings, open living areas with hardwood floors, gas fireplaces with marble hearths and surrounds, 42-inch upper cabinets and Whirlpool appliances. Bedroom suites have walk-in and wardrobe closets and master baths with oversized showers, soaking tubs, Kohler faucets and dual bowl vanities.
