Optima Horizons 85% sold in Evanston

Optima, Inc., an architecture and development firm that champions forward-looking design, has sold 85 percent of the units at its Optima Horizons project, a 16-story condo building that is part of Evanston’s small but growing skyline.
The building, which is now at the eighth floor of construction, has a horizontal profile of light green glass, a common feature among Optima’s recent projects. The cool façade is detailed with dark bronze spandrels, red muntins and silver-gray mullions.

“The excitement is growing for our buyers, the first of whom will move into the building in late summer 2004,” said architect David Hovey, principal in Optima. “Construction is on schedule in keeping with Optima’s reputation for timely deliveries.”

The 16-story building has 248 units. One-bedroom condos range from the $240s to the $300s; two-bedrooms from the $280s to the $340s; and three-bedrooms from the $470s to the $610s.

Optima Horizons, as the name suggests, will have impressive views, overlooking the Northwestern University campus and the lake. It also will boast a landscaped “park” and fountain at the front entry of the glass lobby, and a second landscaped area with a reflecting pool and fountain.

The condominiums have flexible floor plans, with “great” rooms, dining rooms, designated computer spaces in each unit and studies per plan. Other features include granite counters, Levelor blinds, washers and dryers, private outdoor space and separate storage.

The building has a rooftop garden and landscaped private terraces along its east and west sides. Residents will have access to an indoor swimming pool and spa, an outdoor sun deck, a fitness center and party room and indoor heated parking.
