Parkside of Old Town apartment update

When I stopped by on Friday, crews were busy putting the finishing touches on the exterior of 544 Oak at Parkside of Old Town, one of the new buildings on the former site of the sprawling Cabrini-Green housing project.

According to Holsten Management‘s website, 544 Oak is slated for December 2011 occupancy and is accepting applications for market-rate rents of $975 to $1,275 per month. The 7-story controlled-access elevator building will be handicapped-accessible and have a laundry room.

Cable-ready units will be air-conditioned and include dishwashers, hardwood and vinyl flooring, balconies or terraces and window coverings. Garage and surface parking will be available.

If the view from street level is any indication, the units will enjoy great skyline views to the east.

Munchies on Larrabee and Green Oak Food & Liquor are directly across the street from 544 Oak.
