Partners in Charity promises to stop misleading sellers

West Dundee-based Partners in Charity (PIC) and its president, Charles Konkus, recently consented to a civil injunction in a suit brought by the United States Department of Justice. The injunction bars PIC and Konkus from making false and misleading statements in promoting their down payment assistance program to home sellers.

I saw Charlie Konkus several months ago for the first time in years, and asked him about a story I’d heard that he shot his girl friend’s horse dead in the living room of their home in Barrington.

Charlie laughingly denied the story, but conceded it was a good one, and told me I could pass it on. This seems as good a time as any.

The injunction has been reported by the Mortgage Fraud Blog, and by Inman News. We hope we’re not just beating a dead horse by reporting it here.
