Rental service quote of the day – kill granny

by Joe Zekas on 5/9/14

Yesterday I added a new name to our do-not-call list of Chicago rental services a/k/a apartment locators a/k/a apartment finders.

All of the firms have earned a spot on the list by running illegal ads and / or engaging in other clear violations of the Illinois Real Estate License Act.

I asked an acquaintance about the newly-added firm and received this response:

[Name redacted] has no morals and would kill his grandmother for a nickel.

I’ve omitted the agent’s name to preserve my acquaintance’s anonymity and also to alert renters that there far too many rental service agents who fit that description.

Do your research carefully. Know who you’re meeting, and avoid anyone who doesn’t have a lengthy, verifiable track record of positive dealings with renters.
