Rentals, a new focus for a large real estate broker

Koenig & Strey, one of the Chicago area’s leading real estate firms, was recently acquired by an affiliate of Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway.

I recently sat down with Doug Ayers, Koenig & Strey’s President and CEO, to talk about how the acquisition is affecting his company, and is impact on the Chicago real estate market.

One surprise topic came up: Koenig & Strey has a focus on rentals, an area that’s generally been undertaken only reluctantly by some of the large firms in the Chicago metro area.
