Renting a condo in Streeterville can be a cheap alternative to renting in one of the newer high-rises. That’s “cheap” in a relative rather than an absolute sense, since there’s no such thing as cheap rents in Streeterville.
There are currently 13 units available for rent at the Hancock Center, 175 E Delaware Pl. The lone available studio rents for $1,490. Five one-bedrooms (one with 2 full baths) rent from $1,595 to $2,450. Two-bedroom, two-bath units are asking $2,200 to $2,750 (six available) and a 71st floor 3-bedroom, 2-bath is available for $3,700. It’s an 08-tier unit, and you can see Unit 7608 in the above video.
If you’re comparing rents on a $ per square foot per month basis, Hancock units are asking about $1.60 to not much over $2, compared to rents in new high-rises that are trying to push the $2.50 to $3 per square foot mark .
