Yes, Grand is still a mess.
The Red Line station at Grand Avenue and State Street has been a construction zone for years, and will continue to be one through the rest of 2011. Its massive renovation plans call for expanded mezzanines, extra turnstiles, new granite floors and stairs, new tile walls, new elevators and escalators, and more.
