Cultural=history footnote: That “Wieboldt’s” store on Milwaukee was given the name “Nieboldt’s” in Nelson Algren’s “The Man With The Golden Arm.” This is the location of a bungled shop-lifting attempt by Frankie Machine and his sidekick Sparrow.
