Is Superior 110 blue enough for you?

Prior to Joe and my first-ever visit inside Superior 110 in River North, the building’s bright blue windows were a regular topic of speculation. While readers have sounded off in the comments section, with opinions ranging from “What were they thinking?!?” and “Bad choice!!” to “I actually love it“, we’ve mostly wondered whether those windows would look as blue from the inside as they do from the outside.

The windows do have a distinct blue tint that’s very noticeable from inside the building, but Joe and I both agree that these photos tend to make it appear even bluer than it seemed in person. The camera seems to distort the color slightly, making it the model look more blue than either of us remember.

One aspect of the blue tint that we haven’t addressed is functionality. We visited Superior 110 on a bright, sunny day, and none of the windows in the model unit had window treatments on them, and it didn’t really seem like they needed them (although I’m not sure if the tint is strong enough to protect furniture from sun bleaching).

For another look at Superior 110’s furnished model, check out the video I shot during our visit.
