River North’s best apartments – three-bedroom floor plan

Earlier posts in our series on the best apartment towers in River North concentrated on their location. We spotlighted the buildings with the best views, the most convenient grocery shopping, the best access to retail shops, public transit, parks and beaches , the expressway grid, the most nearby dining and nightlife, and the shortest walking distance to the Loop.

We then shifted focus to the buildings themselves, beginning with affordability, the topic that’s top-of-mind with many renters, and moving on to the best building amenities, boutique ambiance, and the most pet-friendly environment.

In our final group of posts, we turned our attention to the apartments, beginning with the best apartment finishes and features, private outdoor space, studio / convertible, one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans.

If you’re looking for a three-bedroom in River North you really need to look beyond the managed rental buildings to MLS-listed condos and townhomes. Only 5 of the 13 River North high-rises have 3-bedroom apartments, and they’re often unavailable for rent.

When we checked, a few days ago, only 2 of the 5 buildings had 3-bedrooms available for rent. The Chicagoan had one 3-bedroom available, renting for $3,789 a month and 3 units were available at AMLI River North, renting for $7,352 to $8,002.

Because of the scarcity factor, we’re not going to select a best-of-River-North 3-bedroom floor plan. If you have to have a 3-bedroom, be prepared to pick from among a very few options.
