Rogers Park's Jarvis Square

by Mark Boyer on 5/30/08

Yesterday, Joe Zekas and I toured Rogers Park with longtime resident and real-estate veteran Connie Abels, who showed us some of the recent commercial and residential development in the neighborhood.

As we walked and rode around the neighborhood, we challenged Connie to discredit the common preconception of Rogers Park as a crime-infested, underdeveloped neighborhood.

In this video, we stop to look at Jarvis Square, an area of Rogers Park that’s seen plenty of recent retail and commercial development, and Connie talks about Charmer’s Cafe, Gruppo Di Amici, The Dagel and Beli Shop, and a handful of other eateries. Jarvis Square is located in the 1500 block of West Jarvis Avenue, between Greenview and the elevated tracks.
