Russland: From Skokie to Michigan Avenue

by Joseph Askins on 6/8/09

Last week I met with Jacob Bletnitsky and Alex Vaisman, principals with Russland Capital Group, at the Michigan Avenue Tower II sales center in the South Loop to talk about their history as developers, the construction of the two Pappageorge / Haymes-designed Michigan Avenue Towers at 1250 and 1400 S Michigan Ave, and what it’s like to be homebuilders in Chicago right now. In this introductory segment from our conversation, Jacob and Alex talk about some of the projects that led up to their work in the South Loop, including new-construction and rehab projects in Skokie, Oak Park, and the Ravenswood neighborhood.
