We really wish we could include Substation North Lofts in New Homes Magazine‘s forthcoming lofts feature in February – but we can’t, because there’s just a single unit left.
According to Santiago Moreno, of @properties, a two-bedroom duplex is still available in the Edgewater development, which started life as a ComEd utility substation before undergoing a residential conversion by developer Sufa & Shemesh LLC. Leftover accoutrements from the site’s industrial past (including control panels and metal ladders) now adorn the units and common areas.
The remaining unit (floor plan 7 on the project’s Web page) is priced at $339,900.
About a year ago, Yo wondered whether buyers would bite at Substation North, given its price tag and location. Now, with just one unit left unsold, we’ve got our answer.
