Seagulls flock to South Side homes

Seagulls in Flossmoor

We recently asked if the much-ballyhooed influx of cicadas had affected your neighborhoods, or interfered with your home searches. Most of you sadly reported that you hadn’t seen a single bug. Now stories are appearing in the press about seagulls flocking to unlikely places far from the water to feast on cicadas – a twist right out of the Old Testament, or maybe Alfred Hitchcock (doesn’t the photo below right look like something out of The Birds?). The gulls have been spotted around Beverly, as noted in a Sun-Times cover story last week, and we snapped these pics over the weekend around south suburban Flossmoor.
