South Loop Loft South Loop Loft

This Sunday nine owned and occupied lofts in the South Loop will be open to the ticket-holding public during the 11th annual South Loop Neighbors Loft Walk. Based on advance ticket sales, South Loop Neighbors Vice President and Loft Walk Chair Helen Kaplow expects this year’s event to exceed last year’s 500-plus attendees. “It’s part history tour, it’s part architecture tour, it’s part design and home decor tour,” she says.

Visitors can show up at Dearborn Station, 47 W Polk St, starting at 11 a.m. to pick up their tickets (sold in advance online or at the event for $30) and maps for the self-guided tour, which will run from noon to 5 p.m. Docents will be stationed at each home to welcome the loft-walkers.

Proceeds benefit the South Loop Neighbors, a non-profit organization dedicated to promote South Loop living and to preserve its landmark districts.
