Spacious Evanston apartments near the Purple Line

The one- and two-bedroom vintage apartments at 618 Hinman in Evanston have been renovated but retain many of their original vintage touches, including hardwood floors, large sun rooms, decorative fireplaces and complex crown and baseboard moldings.

The floor plans are unusually spacious, and individual rooms are large enough to accommodate a number of different functions.

The one bedroom apartments have a large formal dining room adjacent to the eat-in kitchen. One resident whose apartment I visited was using the area as a family room and, like the two-bedroom unit pictured above, had their dining table set up in the sun room.

The building has a large rear yard, easily accessed from the stairs off the kitchens.

Parking is on-street, but quite a few spaces were available at the time of my visit. The South Blvd stop on the Purple Line is just over a block away.

Rents for the one- and two-bedrooms begin at $1,125 and $1,525, respectively, heat included. The building is managed by BJB Evanston, one of YoChicago’s sponsors.
