The 35-story, 367-unit apartment tower proposed for the southeast corner of State and Chestnut was approved by the City Council Zoning Committee yesterday, according to a Chicago Tribune report. The next step is approval by the full City Council.
The project’s website bills its location as the Gold Coast, but of course it isn’t. If you have any doubt about that, just spend a few minutes hanging out at the corner of State and Chestnut.
The new apartment tower will be adjacent to a new site for Loyola University’s business school. The Trib quotes a Loyola spokesperson referring to “our world-class school of business administration.” US News doesn’t list Loyola among the top 105 US MBA programs, relegating it below the “Rank Not Published” tier into the heavily-populated “Unranked” group of schools.
