“Still on the shelf”: It’s our way of talking about developments where listing times are counted in years, not days. For our inaugural segment, I traveled up to the 4700 and 4800 blocks of North Clark Street, where you can find plenty of unsold homes that have been on the MLS for more than a year.

Rainbo Village was a sweet deal right there too…
i wait for the clark bus at this intersection every day. it’s terrible, it’s like a brand new, clean abandoned building. i’ve never seen a person near these condos.
Disclaimer: This is not my listing or my company listing.
The 4747 N Clark new construction is a three unit building and pretty nice. It’s the last and furthest north of about 5 buildings. You are far enough south away from the Lawrence intersection and closer to Chase Park. A top floor, three bedroom with really nice finishes and exposures plus garage parking/elevator is now $419K (I have not checked if it’s still on the market). I’m pretty price sensitive, but this is a nice deal. The unit is under construction and you can still customize.
It is busy on Clark, but at the top floor that is minimized. You are close to alot to do on the stretch. Easy to Wrigley, Andersonville and the lake for that matter.
As well, the street-scape project that I’m 99% sure is approved (was told it is a done deal by Alderman Schulter at a Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce meeting) is supposed to be really nice… new lighting, planting and will change the stretch there going south from Lawrence to Montrose.
I live in one of those 7 buildings and they are not abandoned at all. The final building (4747) that is not even finished is the only one vacant, and I know that at least two of them are sold. There are six units per building, plus the retail spaces (that are mostly vacant, I agree), ours is fully owned and occupied. I believe a few at the south end of the development may have been put BACK on the market, but the only ones not sold are the ones still being completed and they work on them daily. Perhaps you might want to talk to developers, realtors or owners before making your video or in addition to. “DC” must not have been in the area long, or perhaps during the work day when a lot of people are at work. Plus, the garages are in the back alley and most people exit and enter that way.
It is Clark, so there is some noise, but not much that is bothersome or interupts daily life.. it is the city
As for the 4800 block, I am not sure.
