The awards are rolling in for ParkView this spring, beginning with a Home Builder Association of Greater Chicago award last fall, and another from the Construction Industry Standard Service Corporation, which was announced in February. More recently, Friends of Downtown named the two-acre park adjoining the 48-story high-rise downtown Chicago’s Best New Open Space.
Trophies are nice, but buyers will have the last say, and Mike Maier from MCL says that sales have been pretty steady at the 280-unit building through the winter and spring, particularly among second-home buyers.
Whereas many developers have been cutting back on sales center and open house hours, Maier’s team has been extending them. The sales center is currently open every day of the week, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays Maier and his sales staff keep the sales center open until 8 p.m.
Part of the reason for keeping the sales center open past sunset is because prospective buyers want to what the views of the Streeterville skyline and Lake Michigan look like at night, and as the photo from ParkView’s Flickr photostream at the top of this post shows, it is a pretty neat view.
