Function + Art, a nationally recognized gallery specializing in fine craft, studio furniture and glass art, is opening a new exhibition called “Diversity: Studio Furniture part 1” at its West Loop space, 1046 W. Fulton.
Studio furniture encompasses limited edition or one-of-a-kind furnishings handcrafted in an artisan’s studio. This exhibition, “Diversity: Studio Furniture part I”, is intended to provide an introduction to the wide variety of forms, materials, techniques and inspirations used in the field.
More than 20 works by a dozen designers will be on display. The exhibition opens today with a free public reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will continue through July 31.
