If you’ve been in the 1800 block of Division Street in recent years, you’ve surely noticed the unfinished building at the northwest corner of Division and Marion Court. Two years ago, it was marketed as a nine-unit building with two-bedroom / two-baths ranging from the $390s to $790s. By August 2009, developer Joseph Annunzio had defaulted on his $5.5 million construction loan.
According to an email I received this afternoon, Summit Design + Build has relaunched construction at 1846 West Division. “The biggest challenge was taking over the aging structure which was left untouched and exposed to the elements for nearly two years,” it says. “Upon completion, which is schedule for late spring, the sleek steel, concrete and glass structure will feature 11 luxury apartment units and underground parking.”

The building’s ground level will be anchored by Prasino, an “eco-chic” restaurant “committed to supporting local growers, artisanal food producers, and organic agriculture.” Two other Prasino restaurants are located in LaGrange and St Charles.
