Talking architecture at Mondial

by Joe Zekas on 9/5/09

I first met architect / developer Jack Berger more than 30 years ago when we were developing side-by-side projects in the 1800 block of Halsted St.

Jack and his brother began acquiring property 20 years ago in an area they dubbed River West – an area that could easily be called Bergerburg based on the number of homes Jack has built there, and the pervasive and distinctive visual stamp his developments have placed on the area for many years to come.

Friday afternoon I met Jack outside Mondial, his latest project in River West, and asked him to talk to me about Mondial as if he were talking to an architecture student.

This is the first of two videos. More, later.
