This news release just arrived:

The Habitat Company, a leading property manager and developer, is proud to announce that it assumed management responsibilities for McClurg Court Center in Chicago and Coventry Glen apartments in Round Lake, Illinois. With the addition of the McClurg Court and Coventry Glen communities, Habitat’s total units under management will expand to include 21,000 total units.

McClurg Court (333. E. Ontario St.) includes 45-story twin towers with 1,061 apartments, as well as commercial space on the first level of the building in the Streeterville neighborhood. Coventry Glen (1399 Coventry Glen Drive in Round Lake) is a community with 280 apartments in the northwest suburbs – a new submarket for Habitat.

“The Habitat Company’s reputation for excellence was instrumental in winning the property management assignments for McClurg Court Center and Coventry Glen,” said Sheila Byrne, executive vice president of Property Management for The Habitat Company. “Through past and current partnerships, we’ve been able to demonstrate Habitat’s exceptional professionalism, care for residents, and property management expertise.”

Bentall Kennedy (U.S.) Limited Partnership, one of North America’s largest real estate investment firms and real estate advisor to the fund which owns both McClurg Court and Coventry Glen, selected Habitat for the management role as a result of the current partnership on Hubbard Place in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. In less than one year, Hubbard Place achieved 95 percent occupancy, six months ahead of schedule, and has been recognized throughout the property management industry with multiple awards.

Built in the early 1970s and partially redeveloped in 2012, McClurg offers studios, convertibles, and 1 and 2-bedroom apartments that include amazing views of downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan. Amenities include a sun deck with grills, fitness center, internet lounge, an indoor pool and three indoor tennis courts.

Select apartments offer gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops, as well as luxury bathrooms with ceramic and stone-tiled baths with heat lamps.

With approximately 114,220 square feet of retail space on site, residents also enjoy extended amenities that include access to a dry cleaner, sandwich shop, North Bank, 7-Eleven convenience store, along with a Bockwinkel’s grocery store that is opening soon. Indoor, heated parking also is available for residents
