The LEX, luxury apartments in the new South Loop

The southern part of the South Loop is poised for major change with the development of a new arena and hotel near McCormick Place, plans for the Lucas Museum, the opening of the new CTA Green Line stop at Cermak and the coming alive of the Motor Row Entertainment District.

Businesses are opening in anticipation of these developments, and others are scouting locations in the area.

Motor Row Brewing recently announced that it’s opening for business on Thursday, January 15, at 2337 S Michigan, and Spoke & Bird has begun hiring to open in the space that formerly housed Café Society.

The LEX, a luxury apartment tower at 2138 S Indiana, is at the center of this rapidly changing neighborhood that it’s fair to call “the new South Loop.”

The LEX offers one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments in a 35-story, 297-unit tower connected to a 7-story, 36-unit loft building by a 6-story 367-space parking garage. Floor plans and near real-time availability information can be accessed online.

The LEX is currently offering a month’s free rent on 2- and 3-bedroom apartments to renters who apply within 24 hours of their first showing.

The LEX is a full-amenity, pet-friendly community with on-site leasing, management and maintenance staff, and 24/7 door staff.
