The South Loop and West Loop revisited

by Joe Zekas on 9/4/12

Five years ago we sat down with David Chase and Keith Giles, developers who were strongly identified with the West Loop and South Loop, respectively.

There were, at the time, no unmistakable indications of the carnage that, in retrospect, was already well underway in the condo markets in those neighborhoods.

It would be reasonable to expect the real estate crash to have stalled and perhaps even reversed progress in these emerging neighborhoods, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. The South Loop and West Loop are both more livable neighborhoods than they were five years ago – and more affordable to buy in.

You can see more of our wide-ranging discussion with Chase and Giles, and far more of our video from the West Loop and South Loop, at YouTube.

Ryan,

These guys were instrumental in building these neighborhoods.

This isn’t a venue that values snide anonymous comments with nothing to back them up.
