The view south from 240 East Illinois

Some of Chicago’s high-rises have developed a reputation as “view buildings” due to the spectacular skyline vistas from some of their units.

Fairbanks at Cityfront Plaza, 240 E Illinois, isn’t usually found on the roster of view buildings, but the south-facing higher-floor units do serve up some great views.

I took the above shot just before 1 p.m. today from the 30th floor south-facing balcony of a unit that will be listed soon by Melanie Giglio of Sergio & Banks. The view would be more enthralling in the early morning light or at dusk on a clear day.
