1225 Old Town, the new 16-story apartment tower at 1225 N Wells St in Old Town, is ahead of its construction schedule and prepping to begin welcoming new residents in July. The leasing office at 1212 N Wells St has been busy, and apartments are renting more rapidly than initially expected.
Several lower floors were already nearing move-in condition when I visited earlier today, and the building was buzzing with activity. David Bach, an associate with Hines Interests showed me around for a video tour. Until that’s live you can sample some of the views from the 11th floor amenities level.
The amenities level will host an outdoor heated pool and hot tub, a fire pit, stainless steel grills, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a private movie theater, a demonstration kitchen, and a cyber-café and social lounge.
In addition to having a high-end grocer in the building, residents will have a selection of bars and restaurants directly across the street – and scores more within easy walking distance.
If you’re planning a visit to 1225 Old Town this weekend, be prepared to park a ways away, or take the CTA Red Line to Clark and Division or the Brown Line to Sedgwick. The popular Wells Street Art Festival and Old Town Art Fair will be drawing huge crowds this Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and 10.
