by sponsored post on 4/2/14

Sailrock in South Caicos has begun construction on the Villas at Great House, the primary resort component associated with Sailrock.

The first phase of the project, which will be completed In 2015, will consist of Beach Front Villas, Ridgetop Villas and the Great House. This low-density resort, set on 42 acres, embraces the spirit of the true Caribbean experience – outdoor oriented, informal, tranquil and welcoming.

Fully furnished two-, three- and four-bedroom Beach Villas are available starting at $895,000 and Ridgetop Villas are offered starting at $300,000. Sited at elevations ranging from 30 to 50 feet above sea-level, all residences command spectacular ocean views.

The Villas at Great House will serve as the focal point for Sailrock. Great House with its restaurant, bar, lounge, fresh market and stunning infinity edge pool will offer all the desired modern amenities. The resort is the anchor for Sailrock, providing amenities and management to the whole of the Sailrock community. With clean Caribbean architecture and large shaded verandas, the emphasis is on casual comfort and laid back outdoor living.

To maintain a carefully protected ecosystem, strict development guidelines for construction have been implemented to ensure that as much as possible of South Caicos’ natural assets are preserved for all to enjoy. Miles of nature trails will welcome nature lovers and hikers to the large areas of open space that will be forever preserved as wildlife habitat.

Sailrock is being developed by Sailrock Development Limited, an affiliate of CMK BWI Limited and
CMK Companies of Chicago. The principals of Sailrock are responsible for completed projects with values in excess of three billion dollars. In each of their projects, they never waver from their dedication to quality, value and intelligent design.

The developer has assembled a world class team of professionals to assist with the planning, marketing and development of Sailrock. In addition to its professional and seasoned staff the developer has selected premier service providers for master planning, architecture, engineering, marketing and legal to ensure the absolute success of Sailrock.

Grant Nobel, formerly the General Manager of Parrot Cay, has been appointed as the Director of Sailrock.

Sailrock is sited on an 820-acre peninsula whose terrain transitions from the widest stretch of beaches in the Turks & Caicos to high rocky ridges, and is one of the most spectacular areas in all of the Turks & Caicos Islands. The peninsula has over eight miles of shoreline, including two miles of pristine beach where the Villas at Great House is located and many hidden beaches and sandy coves.

South Caicos is an island where nature prevails with long, white sandy beaches, jagged ocean side bluffs, quiet back-water bays and salt flats teeming with pink flamingos. It is renowned for its excellent scuba diving, game fishing and legendary Bone fishing. The island is also home to Cockburn Harbour, the most protected and only natural deep-water harbor in the island chain.

The island is accessible by air via twice daily flights to South Caicos International airport with a 6,000-foot runway and full customs services, or by regularly scheduled ferry to Cockburn Harbour, one of only three ports into Turks & Caicos.

The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by over 150 guests including the Honorable Premier Dr Rufus Ewing, His Excellency Governor Peter Beckingham, members of cabinet and many other local dignitaries.
