Deal of the day: Free parking at Printers Corner

Posted 3/3/2008 by admin

Printers CornerPrinters Corner, a high-rise at 170 W Polk St, is offering free parking for buyers who close before April 1. (Thanks to Crib Chatter for picking up on this item.)

Previously, deeded spots were being sold for $36,000. Yo has written before about how the project blends in with the existing real estate in this area of the South Loop; for more, check out our video interview with Winthrop Properties' Chad Baugh.

"The bottom half fits with the architecture of Printers Row, and the top half is a little more modern, but allows everybody to have their own corner units," he says.

Great building. My guess though is the remaining unsold units are the ones facing northeast near the bottom of the building. The units that look across an alley into another building.

I agree. I toured this with a friend who is looking in the Printer's Row area. It is very well done. Quality where it counts (4 pipe HVAC, for instance), and not just superficial "decoration" items. And no amenities, so fees should stay low.

I hope it does well!

Inside I agree, but how can DPD or any community group support the Parking Podium as designed? That is really bad. Why not continue the facade of the upper building or pick-up a cue from the building next door? Someone should be fired for allowing such a poor design.

These parking spaces are really tiny - but it sure beats trying to find street parking in the area.

Does anyone know how safe the area is? I heard bad things about the River City accross the street.
