SoNo: Please don't let anyone move in
Posted 9/9/2008 by Joe ZekasI took these pictures of SoNo earlier today, and I have to admit I was quite taken with the look of the building. I also couldn't help wondering how its purity will be affected by its residents' taste in window-coverings.
SoNo is at the southeast corner of Fremont and BlackHawk, in a part of Chicago's Near North neighborhood that used to be called the Halsted River Triangle. See more of my SoNo photos at Flickr.

Dear Joe,
Please see my comment for the "windowless" apartment thread dated 5/18/08. You mentioned WI code and I could use your advice.
Thanks

This is one of the best. Unf. I hear that the second half may not be built as planned…

The fact that only the one tower might be built is quite appealing to me. It has a modernistic, monolithic look and looks fantastic not having to share its space with any other tall buildings. I can only imagine the skyline views of the city from high floor south facing units.

The second tower will be built as a rental building.
