Still 10 left at Broadway Village Lofts
Posted 5/2/2008 by Mark BoyerThis Edgewater loft development at 5427 N Broadway St has been on the market for about a year and a half, but still only about 60 percent of the units have been sold. Judging from the Jameson Realty Group's Web site for the Broadway Village Lofts, 10 of the building's 24 one-bedroom lofts are still available, and the price points are listed from the $220s to the $250s.
The photo above is from about a year ago, and it's quite a bit different than the rendering on the Jameson site. We haven't had a chance to get up to Edgewater to follow up on this one, but we'll try to get an update on Yo soon.
It looks like the developer is replacing a lot of cement with glass, which brings to mind the Baer Lofts in Bucktown. (What doesn't bring to mind the Baer Lofts?). Probably because of the location, the Broadway Village Lofts are priced a bit lower than the Baer Lofts, where one- and two-bedroom lofts are listed from the $270s to the $370s.
The Jameson site says the Broadway lofts will be ready for fall 2008 occupancy.
Added: IrishPirate was kind enough to take these updated photos.

I think it's reasonable to assume that these were full size windows in the first place that ere later filled in. Baer was a storage building, this was a laundry. An industrial loft would need large windows.

Well since the McCainiac and the Hildabeast haven't cut gas taxes quite yet, I'll take a pic and send it to you.
I do much walking and biking in a futile effort to remain a lean and trim 220 pounds.
Anyway there is a Radio Shack practically next door and I need to go buy some pocket protectors.

irishpirate,
Have you considered going to titanium-alloy hooks to cut down on the weight?
irishpirate said:
Joe,
that's an interesting idea. I will have to see if there is a non glare paint that will work for that.
I hate for my hooks to distract people.

Welp I think I can say that nothing much has happened over by dere.
Photos of Broadway Loft and Pepitones.
Taken today with a digital camera/video during my breaking in of my new "Masai Barefoot Technology" walking sandals.
I think it looks like they opened and closed different windows from your shot. Just to give the appearance of change!

You're welcome to use any of the shots you want.
If you are drunk and so inclined.
There are some newer restaurants that have relatively recently gone in around there. I assume they have alcohol. They actually have tablecloths so I likely would not be allowed in.

Thanks, irishpirate. I've added a link to your photos at the end of the post, above.
Our original post needs supplementing in another regard: it's not necessarily accurate to conclude that 10 units are left based on the number listed in the MLS / on the broker's Web site. There may be 10 available as stated in the post; there may be more.
