Definitely in a working class turn of the century neighborhood. Odd for such a high styled home to be built as a worker's cottage without even a basement. Looks like only 2 of them have the original window configuration.

These are the Claremont Cottages along Claremont Avenue just north of Grenshaw Street, just east of Western Avenue. I think of this neighborhood as Tri-Taylor, but I've seen it referred to as the Medical District and (a bit of a stretch) West Little Italy.
I don't know if the fact that I may have won more of these than anyone else is a good thing or a sad commentary on my Chicago geography dork-itude.
I tend to think it is the latter, because I must dispute your identification of the streets. This photo is of the east side of the 1000 block of S. Claremont Avenue, near Claremont and Grenshaw. Take a look at Streetview on Google Maps for 1086 S. Claremont Avenue.
It is a very pretty block. There is another pocket of these cottages just south of here, along Claremont, Heath, and Oakley Avenues south of 13th Street. These are in far worse condition, however, and until recently were in the shadow of the Acme (toxic) Barrel Factory at Ogden/Oakley.

Wow…what style are these homes? Gingerbread Bungalows?
I'll say West-Side somewheres (W. Garfield Park/Douglas Park?)…maybe South-Side…(near Pullman)?

Well Irish, looks like I might have you stumped! It is none of those neighborhoods.
In the future, please just guess one at a time.

Since everybody else was taking wild guesses I figured I would up the ante. Save time and all.
Now that is a list of every larger hood in the city. Sub-hoods not included. Somewhere in there is the answer.
Have at it people.

From the list of official community areas provided by Irish Pirate, I believe this would be in the Near West Side.
Valerie said:
You are correct with the neighrborhood, but the streets are Polk and Oakley. I think that you have won more of these than anyone else.
Irishpirate was correct in saying that this was the Near West Side, but we want the smallest neighborhood possible within the larger neighborhoods.
E-mail me at Val @ YoChicago dot com and I will get your gift certificate out to you.

Hey,
I listed every official hood in the city. I deserve no credit except for being a wise ass or a dumb ass depending on your point of view. Perhaps both.
