An early look at Broadway 3030
Posted 5/19/2008 by Joseph Askins![]()
A word of thanks to Yo regular Stokes, who ran across one of Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture's renderings for JFJ Development's Broadway 3030 over the weekend, and to our own Joe Zekas, who snapped a screen cap of the image for all to see.
As I said last week, a new rendering should be available soon. JFJ and @properties will begin selling the project's 53 condominiums after Memorial Day.

Is Dominick's still planning to locate there? With the new higher-end Roundy's brand store going in near Diversey/Broadway/Clark, the grocery options in the corner of East Lakeview are about to improve drastically.

Yes, that's still the plan. I wrote a little bit about it last week.

I was un aware. What building(s) are they going to use?

Taking over Pier 1 and Borders…

The Pier 1/Barnes & Noble building on Diversey. It's either being rehabbed or knocked down, and the architect is Lucien LaGrange. Roundy's is responsible for the "Pick-n-Save" brand in Wisconsin, but hopes to create a new, more upscale brand in Chicago with three new stores.

so…are they building new or reusing existing? are they adding parking? the 2 flat two doors west was torn down (to add parking capacity?)
Also, does anyone know what they are planning across the street? I saw a notice notice to up zone to B3-3.
